For some people who have invested hundreds of dollars in Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising, this resulted in wasted advertising dollars because the traffic which they sent to EN landed on a webpage that said: “Server Maintenance — We are doing some housekeeping and making some major improvements to our site… We should be back up soon…”

One of the major tips we share with our team of Empower Network Bloggers is: Do Not Treat EN As Your Main Blog.

(Perhaps they should add that tip to the Empower Network Fast-Track Training Program.)

EN is better used as a support for your main blog. This means you should avoid sending paid traffic to your EN blog, and instead focus on your non-EN main blog. Remember, EN should be used mainly for support.

Does The Empower Network Marketing System Really Convert?

Here’s what we’ve seen in the EN system: You basically publish articles online, and people are exposed to a banner above, to the right, and below your main content.

When people click on those Empower Network advertising banners, they will be invited to share their email address for more information.

Afterwards, they will be shown a video (which helps sell the EN blogging and training package). Now since few people buy immediately from the start, an email marketing campaign sends messages in an effort to build a relationship with your reader which may lead to a sale in the future.

The Empower Network System comes with a Lead Capture page… but only 1 email autoresponder message.

There are existing groups in the EN system who help their group members by sharing a 7-part email series. Perhaps this was done because the built-it EN autoresponder series contains only 1 email message.

How can you successfully sell with only 1 message, right?

Then again, the promised offer of EN is a lead capture page (a page where people can sign-up using their email address). There was no offer of a full-blown email autoresponder series.

TIP: Please test, test, and TEST.

The results will vary from website to website, and from visitor to visitor. Based on a series of internet marketing tests where we displayed the EN banners in various multi-topic websites, the clickthrough rate was less than 1 percent.

Perhaps this is a sign that people are blind to banners.

We’re currently gathering more data on what percent of people who do click on the banners end up sharing their email address. And then, that will lead to figures on how many people who did sign-up with their email end up buying at least the $25/month package of EN.

From the initial tests on a network of blogs that gets around 3,000 to 4,500 visitors daily the banner click-throughs are quite low at 0.2 percent. That’s one click for every 450 people who read your webpage.

In other words, if all you are going to rely on are banners, you’ll need to attract a LOT of traffic for this to work.

Clearly, you should not put all your faith in banners alone.

If you want a higher chance of success, you’ll need the following:

1) Another reason, other than you simply want extra income. If you have another blog or even a network of websites, use EN for promo support. Don’t make EN the end-all or be-all destination.

2) Your own email autoresponder series. You’ll need to stand out, and your unique blog content is not enough. You need your own email series, so that people can connect with you.

3) A willingness to serve others first. If all you’ll think about is yourself, if all you focus on are the 100% direct commissions, if all you dream about is “Me, Me, and Me” then you’ll most likely not succeed with Empower Network.

And you know what? When those customers are Passed-Up to you, their 2nd, 4th, 6th, and every 5th customer will be Passed-Up also to you. That means you are also encouraged to help these people.

Should You Upgrade to the $100/month Inner Circle?

I don’t know, because I’m still trying to get information about what kind of training is given to Inner Circle members.

At the moment, people are upgrading because they don’t want to miss out. What if one of their Direct Customers upgrades? Those $100/month payments will be sent to you only if you yourself are an EN Inner Circle member.

My Recommendation: Do your due diligence first, and find out more about the Inner Circle product. Don’t upgrade just because you’re afraid of losing out on the $100 direct payments of other people.

Evaluate the product or service first. Avoid focusing just on the potential cashflow, tempting though as it may be.

As you can tell, I’m sticking to the $25/month product first.

You’re supposed to blog daily, but the reality is you won’t feel like doing it everyday. There will be some days, however, when you’re in the zone and you end up writing more than two blog posts.

Resist the urge to publish more than two posts a day.

You’ll end up burning out. Worse, you’ll give the search engines the impression that you are not committed to publishing on a regular basis. When that happens, the search engine robots will not visit and index your new articles as often or as quickly as before.

In WordPress, you can write your blog post today, and then schedule it for publishing at some later or future date.

I’ve tested this in the WordPress Multi-User blog system of the Empower Network, and twice saw that the scheduled posting date was missed.

TIP: Continue scheduling posts, because you’ll never know when you’ll be in a writing mood. Type away and write when the creative mood hits you.

Then… log in regularly, edit your blog post, then click on the UPDATE button to have the blog post actually appear in your blog.

It’s not really 100% percent commission. I mean, not in the mathematical sense.

Let’s say you joined Empower Network because of the recommendation of your friend Mark. Based on the direct commissions rule, you are paying Mark directly for the blogging and training service that you are getting.

Now let’s suppose you told your friend about EN, and she says: “Yes, I want to gain more traffic while earning 100% direct commissions too!”

Your friend, let’s call her Tina, joins and Tina directly pays you the monthly subscription fee. In that case, you earned a 100% direct commission.

Now what happens when you tell your other friend, John, and he avails of the blog traffic and marketing service. He will end up directly paying your buddy Mark.

Wait… What Happened To My 100% Direct Commission?

What happened is called a “pass-up”, which is done to encourage you to help others. Mark is encouraged to help you, because he knows that the 2nd, 4th, and 6th person who buys the marketing service on the strength of your recommendation will end up directly paying him (Mark).

Waitaminit, Kapeng Mainit… My Commission Is Only 50 Percent?

Mathematically, yes your commission is only 50 percent. Let’s assume you successfully market the traffic and training system to 6 paying customers, you will get directly paid by 3 of those people.

After those first 6 paying customers, every 5th customer you successfully market to will end up directly paying Mark, or the person you are directly paying for the service. With a bit of math we see that your commission is actually 80% after your 6th customer.

Meaning, out of customers #7 to #11 (that’s 5 customers), you will get paid directly by 4 people (customers 7 to 10), while Mark (or the person you’re paying directly) will get paid by customer number 11.

But I Want My 100 Percent!

Article spinning involves using article spinner software to make numerous variations of is, essentially, a single article.

For example, your article might begin with: “Young children like the sight of bright red toys…”

You will then need to re-write this into something that article spinners understand. For example,

Offer to help sell the products.

For example, if a product is worth P1,500 (whitening product) per bottle, sell it and earn P300 in commissions. After you’ve sold 27 bottles, your commissions will be enough for you to buy an AIM Global package and become a distributor.

Lastly, with your money, buy and use/consume the products. Once people around you see the benefits of those products (because you end up becoming living proof that the products work), they will approach you and either buy products from you, or sign up under you as a Distributor.

Either way, you save TIME.

We’re assuming you don’t have enough time or money, because you’re busy working on a low-earnings project.

In this situation, the advice is: Save Money.

Set aside 10% of your gross monthly earnings until you have enough funds to buy a Distributorship Package.

We even got a response from Rico the Magician! His response was “Salamat po” and his fans at home were starstruck. They read and re-read his tweet a bajillion times.

07. Connect via Google+.

If you look around you, most people would rather watch than read. They flock to YouTube and watch music videos, but that doesn’t mean you’re limited to producing only such types of vids.

You can create your own video (about anything), and then upload it to YouTube. You can also embed or insert that video in your blog. This gives your blog readers a glimpse of your personality.

Here’s an example:

Try not to worry too much if you think your eyebags are too big, or you’re having a bad hair day, or the lighting’s not that flattering. Just publish something that’s informative, helpful, or entertaining.

09. Connect with Bloggers.

There are numerous Filipinos who express themselves via their blogs. If you search Twitter or Facebook, you’ll find them. So go out and visit their blogs.

And do more than visit. Actually read their blogs. And leave relevant comments.

Get to know them, and some of them will try to get to know you, too. And more than that, there are bloggers who will wholeheartedly support and promote your advocacy program.

10. Publish in many formats.

You can take the articles that you have published in your blog, and then transform them into different formats. For example, make an audio recording of the article, create a PowerPoint presentation, package your best blog posts as an ebook in Amazon Kindle format, or create an online video presentation.

From the above tips you will see that the main goal is to reach different different people in various popular places online. Look for where the people are, then make yourself visible.

The web is changing. It is not dying.

This means that you don’t necessarily have to change what you have already published. Instead, you need to expand and consider producing other forms or different formats.

For example, with the exploding smartphone market, you will need to reach mobile internet users on their terms. That will involve establishing your presence in Facebook, Twitter, and other popular social media networks, or creating mobile versions of your websites or blogs.

There are still people using browsers.

And that’s why you will need to maintain your existing sites online. Unless you want to simply turn your back on that market, of course. (Which I don’t recommend.)

People are using the web in different ways. The smartphone users with 24×7 mobile internet access use it basically to keep in constant touch with their FB friends. How do you want to market to them?
