The video shown by the priest was a family video of activities (eating, swimming) shared with their adorable daughter who has CP.
I didn’t attend the retreat at the Ateneo, but I overheard that both men and women were sniffling or dabbing their eyes after viewing the photo slideshow of that young girl with her family.
The vid showed scenes where the entire family would share their meals together, with their daughter being fed through a tube on the side of her tummy. Or scenes of them all swimming together. Or other moments which show that their daughter is truly part of their family.
The song “Just The Way You Are” (Bruno Mars) is a wonderful and powerful choice to serve as the background music for their slideshow of love and hope.
