Some friends are asking about offline marketing tactics they can use in their MLM or network marketing business (food, health, wellness). Here are some things you need to consider…
1. What is your MLM Company’s policy on offline marketing?
Remember, you are just an independent distributor. If someone complains about claims that you make, the MLM company will not defend you. They will distance themselves from you. Afterall, you are an independent distributor.
So… why will you do offline marketing for an MLM company?
2. How much will your MLM company pay you for your offline marketing efforts?
If the MLM organizers order a 30-second commercial spot in a popular noontime TV show, and the advertisement does not result in any sales of the network marketing product, will they tell the TV station: “Sorry, we won’t pay you anything.”
Of course not! They will still pay the TV station whether or not they make any sales as a result of the TV commercial.
Now what about you? When you spend on transportation and go around handing out flyers and speaking with friends, family, classmates, Kakilala, Kapitbahay, Kaibigan, Kapamily, Kamag-anak, K-whatever… will you get reimbursed by your MLM company? 😉
If you don’t make any sales, you’ll get nothing.
And if you DO make sales, how much will you earn? In some cases, you’ll earn 16 percent, or around P2,500.
Now tell me, how many people must you speak with or present to, in order to close sales of P15,400? And how much will you spend in order to touch base with all of those people?
Well… I really hope it will be less than P2,500 or you’ll end up just breaking-even for all your efforts.
So… why will you do offline marketing for an MLM company?
The Offline Marketing Lesson
Please don’t do offline marketing for free. Get compensated.
And if you won’t get compensated for your money and for your TIME, then market your own business. And believe me, an independent distributorship deal in a network marketing or MLM company is not “your own business.”
Forget Offline Marketing… Go Online Marketing!
With offline marketing, it’s “isang kahig, isang tuka” — what you did yesterday is lost. Another day, another round of effort. And for what, for building someone else’s business?
With online marketing, what you did yesterday will still continue working for you tomorrow, next week, next month, and even next year. Work once, earn many times. That’s leverage, right?
People can read what you’ve written even while you’re asleep. You’re not constantly editing what you wrote 3 months ago, and yet there’s someone out there reading your article. That someone can become a future business partner of yours. That person can become part of your growing network.
So if you really want to stick with your network marketing company, then go ahead and use online marketing tactics because this will be a better way of spending your time.
As far as offline marketing goes, please reserve that precious time and invest it in building the business of YOU.
