Meralco is now posting updates or brownout schedules on Twitter, because this is another way of getting the word out quickly. Typhoon Ondoy/Pepeng and the many volunteer bloggers and Twitter-ers who published info and updates in real-time has increased our usage of Twitter, and it’s good to see that Meralco is also using Twitter in light of our need to know what is going on.
So, where do we go from here?
Some areas experienced 6-hour blackouts yesterday (i.e., Edsa Ortigas) from 1pm to 7pm, and then again from 9:30pm (10/8) to 1:30am (10/9). What exactly is going on? Here’s what Meralco has to say about the brownouts / blackouts…
Am now resting after getting stranded in Quezon City because of the flood which submerged many areas in Metro Manila and other places in Luzon, Philippines. Some of the people I spoke with said that the last time their place got flooded was 12 to 15 years ago.
